High School Preparation
Auckland Edinburgh College offers a High School Pathway programme in conjunction with Botany Down Secondary College, Maclean’s College, Rosehill College, Elim Christian College, Papatoetoe High School and other schools in the Auckland area.
Here at Auckland Edinburgh College we assist students with the development of their writing, reading, listening and speaking skills to enable them to improve their English to a level that will enable them to fit into life at high school and cope with the demanding curriculum there.
Students can enter Auckland Edinburgh College with any level of English as our classes cater for beginner up to upper intermediate level students.

■ Our Aims
There is an increasing demand for high school places for international students here in New Zealand. Often there are too many applicants for the places available and high schools have to restrict the number of students they take as the language support needs of students who have recently arrived in New Zealand are usually extremely high. Many high schools in New Zealand require a minimum English ability entry level of IELTS 4.0/4.5,
The role of Auckland Edinburgh College’s High School preparation programme is to not only bring up the student’s level of English to the equivalent of IELTS 4.0/.4.5 but also to help students settle in to life and the culture in New Zealand. Students who join our high school programme receive 23 hours of General English and Academic preparation per week.
